September 2nd: Early varieties
Irene came and went with more rain than puff. Other than that the week has been pretty quiet. The mornings have been very foggy in the Saint John River Valley.
The Paula Red’s should be ready after the Labour day weekend and we will be selling them at $0.60/lb. They almost seem like the official apple season kick off variety because they are a) one of the first major varieties and b) a tasty apple! There are a couple new varieties to try out as well: Sunrise and Ginger Gold. I can’t really say what they taste like (as I haven’t tried them myself), so you will just have to give them a try!
Feel free to come up to see us any day after Labour day, as we will be poking around all week.
