August 26: Are you (Paula) Red-y?

It’s hard to believe it’s the end of August… this season, most of the varieties are ahead in harvest time by about 8 days! The Paula Reds are ripening quickly and we expect to have a few ready by the weekend of August 28-29. If you like them tart then this is the time! We also have a few early apples left in the coolers: New Brunswickers, Jersey Mac and Waweig. Next up is our favourite cooker, the fabulous Dudley Winter, which should be ready the first of September.

This early season is a definite plus for our resident horses! Speaking of which, we have a new visitor for the apple season. Her name is Lily, and she’s a beautiful and gentle 18 month old Clydesdale. She wasn’t a fan of apples when she arrived, but we have managed to convert her!

We still have limited quantities, so it is best to call ahead, 459-5315 or 459-7406.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
